personal or business blog?

I have not been posting on this blog for a long time.  And I just realised that a personal blog really is a great place to share your thoughts, especially if they do not quite fit any of the business blogs or websites that you usually write for.

You may have many interests and hobbies, but you would not write about the new way of applying metallic foil to fabric on your copywriting blog, would you?  It would just confuse your clients.  But if absolutely have to share little things that make you smile or wonder, you can always do that on your personal blog.

Talk about people you met, conversations you have and things you create.  You can use your blog to keep track of little ideas that have a potential to grow into a book one day, or another business.

It can also help you to step back from "serious writing", especially if your writing for clients includes a lot of research and editing.  It is like making a little sketch or painting a miniature after you spent hours in your studio finishing a big oil or paste painting.
